Southern Medical University will hold the 2023 SMU Online Summer Camp for Chinese language learners. This camp offers 28 class hours of Chinese language courses, 24 China-related talks, and 14 lectures on traditional Chinese culture, accompanied by 1 pre-recorded video clip. The camp courses start with a general introduction to configuration principle of traditional Chinese characters and medical culture in them, and then focus on the concept of China's national fitness at the present times. Then, from the aspects of traditional Chinese medicine observation, massage, five poultry play, aerobics, skipping rope and fancy skipping rope, yoga, daily fitness to reduce fat and so on, which are described through theoretical, practical exercises, and melodramas to understand the medical culture in Chinese characters and contemporary Chinese health concepts and contemporary national conditions. The camp features the combinations of small-size language learning tutorials and large-size cultural talks, and of live and recorded videos. The campers will learn from each other and learn together through short and fulfilling learning exchanges. Aimed at demonstrating the charm of Chinese language and culture through online Chinese education, this camp provides a platform for students to improve their Chinese language proficiency and multi-angle perception of medical culture in Chinese characters, and to have an in-depth understanding of modern and contemporary national conditions. In this way, the camp has promoted the cultural exchanges and interaction between China and the world.
