In this winter camp, we hope to explore the full opportunities of the coming 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou to deepen overseas students' understanding of contemporary Chinese technology and humanities by telling Asian Games stories, organizing visits to the Games venues and promoting the Games visions. Hangzhou is a city abound with intangible heritage sites. Making full use of this advantage, we try to arouse overseas youths' interest in Chinese traditional culture by offering them expert courses and field experience, thereby spreading Chinese culture overseas. “Chinese Bridge” CUZ Winter Camp--- “The Distant Cultural Echo in Hangzhou Asian Games” has 22 courses in total, encompassing four sections, which are “yun”, “云”,“韵”,“运”. “yun”symbolizes Chinese language teaching. Such courses include Practical Chinese, An Interpretation of Intangible Cultural Heritage Poetry and Virtual Language Corner and so on. “云”symbolizes online teaching. We will organize a Virtual Tour of Hangzhou and ICH(Intangible Cultural Heritage) Virtual Experience Days. Online experience courses include: Woodworking in the Luban Classroom(an introductory course about Chinese mortise and tenon, an architecture structure without nails and adhesive), Carving and Printing Techniques(participants can also experience traditional Chinese wood-block prints and movable type system in this course), Printing and Dyeing of the 24 Solar Terms(about traditional painting and dyeing with plants) and Pottery Making(about the technology and craftsmanship of pottery). “韵” is flavour, which represents characteristic Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage and traditional Chinese culture. Courses in this section includes Seal Cutting Art Practice, Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Ink and Wash Painting, The Chinese Tea Ceremony, The Intangible Cultural Heritage Appeal of Chinese Opera, Taste of China and Appreciation of Zhejiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Traditional Dances. “运” is sports, which represents stories, visions and experience of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. Courses in this section includes Road to Hangzhou 2022, Meeting at Hangzhou Asian Games, Interpreting the Symbolic Culture of Jiangnan from the Asian Games Mascot, Intangible Cultural Heritage and Chinese Aesthetics and so on. The teachers include professors and experts in the related fields, the staffs of the organizing committee, the Asian games channel English presenter and intangible heritage inheritors, etc. The program also gets support from Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee Publicity Department foreign Exchange Department, Hangzhou Asian games organizing committee, Zhejiang international channel and Hangzhou television.
