It is the most traditional way of life for Chinese people to inhabit by water. The Nenjiang River, the flow of mother river in northeast China, is like a silver Jade belt flowing from the towering Xing’anling Mountains, nourishing this vast and rich black land and raising the hard-working and honest people of all ethnic groups. The Nenjiang River Basin has fostered a unique regional culture with its rich natural resources, excellent ecological environment, long historical and cultural traditions, and diverse ethnic civilization forms. There is the world famous large wetland -- Zhalong Nature Reserve, which retains the most space-time continuity of Northeast culture and the unique lifestyle of Northeast people. Qiqihar University is located at the bank of Nenjiang River—the famous homeland of red-crowned cranes—the city of Qiqihar. Through the “Chinese Bridge” online exchange program, we show the charm of Chinese culture to the students of international friendship schools and more international Chinese language fans to enjoy the distinctive culture of Nenjiang River basin, and perceive its regional customs from various angles. Language and cultural exchange activities can enhance the communication and friendship between Chinese and foreign youth, and enable the world know China, promoting development, harmony and friendship with culture, and contributing Chinese wisdom to world peace and development.
