The thread running through this program is the "Chinese character" , through which the course introduces the ancient and modern knowledge of Xi'an and the cultural experience relating to the characters. The five different themes, mainly "living, food, humanities, music, and transportation", will guide the international students to learn about the knowledge of Chinese characters, understand the differences between Chinese and other languages. Through studying Chinese character theory, students will be able to understand the fundamentals of Chinese characters’ creation, and be more enthusiastic about learning characters.
