Tianjin Normal University is the inheritor of the century-old normal education in Tianjin, the birthplace of the context of basic education in Tianjin, and the only normal university training quality teachers for basic education in Tianjin. It was be included in the ranks of the National Education Power Promotion Project of high-quality normal University construction in 2021. College of International Education Exchange is one of the professional colleges of Tianjin Normal University. More than 70% of the teachers have overseas education and teaching background. The college offers academic master's degree programs in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics and master's degree programs in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of other languages. It offers undergraduate programs in Japanese Education for Chinese students and Chinese Language and Culture and Chinese to Speakers of other languages for international students. The school offers Chinese teaching and other courses for international students all the year round, mainly carrying out Chinese language and culture "one to one" study, long (short) period study, summer (winter) camp study, cooperation project with overseas universities' undergraduate courses in semester-based credit exchange and degree transfer method.
