Chongqing University of Technology's School of Foreign Languages will host the 2024 “Chinese Bridge” Online Winter Camp from October 21 to October 31, 2024, for global Chinese language learners and enthusiasts. This winter camp consists of two program groups: “Cloud Traveling in the Magical Mountain City to Feel and Experience the Modern Chongqing”and “Mutual Appreciation of Civilizations Ascends Time and Space---Cloud Dialogue Among Youth from China and Vietnam”. The “Cloud Traveling in the Magical Mountain City to Feel and Experience the Modern Chongqing” program lasts for 11 days and includes 10 hours of Chinese language classes, 8 hours of cultural theme teaching, 8 hours of live virtual tours, one “Chinese Traditional Culture Show,” and a variety of pre-recorded video courses. The main feature of this program is the live-streamed sessions where instructors guide students through streets and alleys, exploring the city’s unique transportation and magical landscapes. A total of 120 participants from countries including Vietnam, Pakistan, Equatorial Guinea, the Republic of the Congo, Cambodia, and Yemen have registered for this program, engaging in meaningful and in-depth exchanges with over 80 Chinese teachers and students during the short study period. The goal of this program is to showcase the unique charm of Chongqing through online Chinese learning, highlight the city’s modern transportation, and provide insights into the lives of local residents. It aims to equip students with practical travel Chinese for Chongqing, offer multi-faceted perspectives on Chinese culture, and deepen their understanding of the modern Chinese way of life, fostering cultural exchange and interaction between China and other countries.
