Chongqing No. 7 High School was built in 1758 A.D., which was in emperor Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty as the name of Dongchuan Academy 262 years ago.It is the oldest high school in Chongqing. It has changed its location four times from Cangbai Memorial Hall to Champion square of Guihua Garden in Yuzhong District, from Emperor's palace, Changshou River Street to Gaojia Garden today. And it has changed its name nine times such as The Academy, Gongli High School, Chongqing United High School, Chongqing High School and as of today, Chongqing No. 7 High School. It owns “Three Traditions” which was passed for generations with the essence of Dongchuan(aka East of Sichuan) spirit and praised as “the cradle of revolution and the spirit of central China”.It was one of the first Key High Schools in Sichuan Province and one of the first Key High Schools in Chongqing after the city ascended to Chongqing Municipality. It has been well known in Sichuan and Chongqing .
