The 2021 Chinese Bridge: Russian Youth Online Winter Camp is sponsored by Center for Language Education and Cooperation and hosted by the College of Intensive Chinese Studies (CICS) and Center for International Communication of Chinese Culture at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU). With the theme of Passing on the ancient to the present, knowing about China, perceiving and understanding Chinese culture, this winter camp has a special intensive curriculum designed and tailored for more than 100 Russian college and middle school students according to their cultural background, age, and learning rules, to meet their interests and focus of attention. The mode of live webcast has been adopted to carry out interactive learning online for the whole program. Through a series of well-designed online courses, including Chinese Language Class, Chinese Culture Experience, Chinese Culture Appreciation, and Chinese Stories, the participants, thousands of miles away from China though, enjoy the beauty of the Chinese, the rich and colorful Chinese culture, the profound wisdom of the Chinese people, and the vitality of contemporary China. The courses not only improve the campers’ Chinese proficiency, but also expand their cognition and understanding or Chinese civilization and contemporary society, and stimulate the enthusiasm and motivation for further learning Chinese language and culture.
