This course includes two sets of short videos, each consisting of six segments, each around eight minutes long. The first set focuses on cuisine, featuring five chapters on the Eight Culinary Traditions of China and one chapter on Vietnamese cuisine. The Eight Culinary Traditions of China are personified and categorized into four groups: Shandong cuisine is likened to a scholar, Sichuan and Hunan cuisines resemble wandering sorcerers, Cantonese and Fujian cuisines are compared to charming young gentlemen, and Jiangnan cuisines are depicted as elegant beauties. Vietnamese cuisine is compared to a pure and graceful Southeast Asian girl. The course aims to introduce foreign learners to the beauty of Chinese and Vietnamese cuisines, enhancing their understanding of different culinary cultures.The second set focuses on traditional clothing, including five chapters on the evolution of women’s traditional clothing in China and one chapter comparing the Vietnamese áo dài and the Chinese qipao. The former presents a unique perspective on five ancient women’s garments, tracing their origins, while the latter explores the essence of the clothing cultures of both countries. The course hopes to lead foreign learners to appreciate traditional clothing from China and Vietnam, deepening their interest and understanding of diverse clothing cultures, enhancing national confidence, and sharing the richness of cultural heritage.
