Chinese calligraphy is an ancient art of writing Chinese characters. Based on the Chinese characters, it is a significant feature that sets Chinese calligraphy apart from other types of calligraphy. The course content consists of three parts: the beauty of fonts, the beauty of work forms, and writing practice. The first part mainly introduces the characteristics of oracle bone script, seal script, official script, cursive script, and running script. The forms of calligraphy works mainly include couplets, horizontal scrolls, and square paintings, among other common forms. Finally, in the writing practice section, students will learn the grip and seating posture for using the brush, and study the basic strokes such as horizontal, vertical, hook, and stroke in regular script. They will use regular script to write a classic poem to complete a calligraphy work.
