This section aims to acquaint students with China’s traditional festivals, with a focus on the origin, customs, and appreciation of ancient poetry related to the Double Ninth Festival. We will study the Tang Dynasty poem “Thinking of My Brothers in Shandong on the Ninth Day of the Ninth Month” by Wang Wei. Through this class, students will not only experience the festive atmosphere of the Double Ninth Festival but also learn to recite and perform a hand gesture dance to this famous Tang poem.
