Intangible Cultural Heritages in Liaocheng. Liaocheng is famous as the Water City North of the Yangtze River and one of the ancient commercial centers by the Grand Canal, which marks the confluence of the ancient and splendid Yellow River civilization and the Grand Canal culture, the ancient Qilu culture and the Yanzhao culture. This course leads students to explore the Chinese stories behind Liaocheng intangible cultural heritage by looking for hand-made crafts in Liaocheng, such as carved gourds, wood-burning teapots, copper clocks and watches, etc.
