It also reflects the national sentiment, aesthetic meaning, and cultural connotations of ancient Chinese architecture. Studying wood carving can help us to understand traditional Chinese architectural culture better. This course will explore the auspicious patterns found in traditional Chinese architectural wood carving, covering the following topics: the development and evolution of traditional Chinese architectural wood carving, the types of traditional Chinese auspicious patterns in architectural wood carving and their symbolic meaning, the application of traditional Chinese auspicious patterns in architectural wood carving, and the appreciation of pattern design and production.
