This course is taught by Li Yuwei, a teacher from the School of Architecture and Planning, Hunan University. People's living is inseparable from architecture. A very important part of ancient Chinese architecture that is different from Western classical architecture is that Chinese architecture obeys a system of rites, and rites are the core of Chinese architectural culture. Class system is the embodiment of rites in architecture. This course takes Yuelu Academy as the object to observe how Chinese rites are reflected in the site layout and architecture of the academy.
