The Dai Elephant-foot Drum Dance is a male dance both for entertainment and also for performance, which is a means for the Dai people to express their joyous emotions with a unique artistic style. The dance moves mainly focus on the lower body, such as lifting, squatting, walking steps, big figure-eight steps, and sometimes accompanied with some slight body movements. In June 2008, the "Dai Elephant-foot Drum Dance" was selected into the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
