Dali Bai tie-dye is an ancient textile dyeing technique in China, and was selected into the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list in May 2006. More than one thousand patterns in Bai tie-dye are a reflection of the Bai people's historical culture over thousands of years, reflecting the Bai people's customs, aesthetics, and forming the charming Dali Bai textile and dyeing culture together with various craft techniques. Among them, the tie-dye industry of Zhoucheng(a village in Dali) Bai people is the most famous, and it has been named by the Ministry of Culture as the "Hometown of Ethnic Tie-dye".
