Yuelu Academy was one of the four famous academies in Chinese history and located in Changsha, a famous historical and cultural city in Hunan Province of China. As one of the oldest universities in the world, its ancient and traditional academy buildings have been completely preserved. Every stone tablet, every brick and tile, and every lotus in the wind in it are shining with the humanistic spirit tempered by time. This course introduces the origin of the name of Yuelu Academy, the couplet of “The Kingdom of Chu, unique home of the talents; the Yuelu Academy, the very cradle of all”, the plaque of “Seeking Truth from Facts” in the lecture hall, the stele of academic regulations, class discussions and other historical and cultural relics, guiding students to explore this academy of thousands of years together.
