Qihe River originates from Qizi Mountain in Lingchuan County, Shanxi Province, with a total length of 176 kilometers and 83 kilometers in Hebi. It flows through Hebi and enters Weihe River. Qihe River is picturesque and enjoys a long history, with an inexhaustible cultural treasure. It is home to scenic spots and historical sites including the Natural Map of Tai Chi, Luo Guanzhong's hermitage, and Qiligou, and cultural landscapes like the Wetland Park and Poetry Gallery. According to research, in the Book of Songs, the first collection of Chinese poems, there are as many as 39 poems describing the natural scenery and local conditions on the banks of Qihe River. Scholars, writers and poets of past dynasties also left many poems describing and praising Qihe River. In September 2014, Qihe River was named "Chinese Poetry River" by the Poetry Institute of China, the first river in China to receive the award for poetry. Qihe River is regarded as history river, culture river and mother river by local people.
