Empresses in the Palace, a court drama of the Qing Dynasty, mainly tells a story of how Zhen Huan grows up from a naïve and pure girl to an empress dowager. You will see that the costumes of each character in Empresses in the Palace are very distinctive. The design is very particular. It fully embodies the characteristics of ancient Chinese costumes. In addition to the patterns on these costumes, some different clothing colors are also used in the play to reflect the changes of characters' mood and fate, and the ancient classification of colors also indicates the social positions of different characters.
