Beigushan Hill is one of the three famous hills of Zhenjiang. Adjacent to the Yangtze River, the hill is craggy and tough, and has spectacular views across the north of the city, hence the name Beigushan. It is not only the famous hill of Zhenjiang but also a veritable “Hill of the Three Kingdoms”. There have been many places of interest and legends about the three kingdoms on this hill for thousands of years. This course tells the stories of “Liu Bei’s Marriage”, the jousting between Sun Quan and Liu Bei, and Sun Shangxiang’s suicide in a river. Students can understand the meaning of the idiom “Young Master Zhou’s brilliant plan of conquest has cost you the lady, and officers and men to boot.” Meanwhile, the course also explains several classical Chinese poems.
