The Heat Island Effect is the phenomenon that the temperature of certain area is higher than that of the surrounding area. Such microclimate change is typical in urban areas due to human activities which leads to increase in local temperature, change of humidity and air convection. To mitigate the heat island effect, China has made a lot of efforts in establishing its building code and building design.
