In the Chinese traditional culture, beautiful jade symbols power, wealth and status, implying Chinese people’s longing for happy life. The meaning and function of jade have been deeply combined with all aspects of life of Chinese people, such as a token of love, a birthday or full-moon-birth memento, investment and collection. Consequently, jade culture is an extremely characteristic representative of Chinese culture. In this course, Chinese jade culture will be lectured on in terms of the overview of jade culture, Hetian Jade——main jade in China, symbolic meanings and usage of jade in China as well as common patterns and molds of jade, for example, getting preliminary knowledge of the concepts on jade, the words related to jade in the Chinese language, application scenarios for jade and the types of jade bracelet. Of course, China boasts a great and profound history of jade lasting for up to 8000 years. For being restricted by the duration of course, the content can only be expounded in part.
