With a long history as a profession, teachers preach knowledge and clear up people’s doubts in learning. They pass on knowledge to students and teach them the morality of humanity. It is due to such reasons that teaching has been considered an honorable profession for thousands of years. Therefore, it has been a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation to pay respect to teachers and give priority to education since ancient times. At present, many students will sing the song The Brightest Star in the Night Sky on special days to express their respect and gratitude toward teachers. The brightest star in the night sky! That is exactly the most appropriate expression. The stars are bright and clear. Like the shining stars in the endless sky of the night, teachers illuminate the way ahead for students. In this lesson, we will demonstrate the spirit of selfless dedication of Chinese teachers and expound on the origin of the Teachers’ Day in China through music that is free from the bound of national boundaries and in combination with the Teachers’ Day of China that is celebrated on September 10.
