China and Central Asian countries have a long history of exchanges and friendship. The ancient Silk Road has meandered thousands of miles and survived thousands of years since Zhang Qian’s mission to the Western Regions in the Han Dynasty of China. It has closely linked the peoples of China and Central Asian countries, created magnificent friendly exchanges, and cultivated a deep friendship that becomes even stronger with time. Thirty years ago, when the Central Asian countries became independent, the Chinese government took the lead in establishing diplomatic relations with the five countries, ushering in a new era of friendly exchanges. Over the past thirty years, the relationship between China and Central Asian countries has marched forward unswervingly, as the flowers in spring come to fruition in autumn. It has travelled an extraordinary path to stand at a new historical high point, its fruitful results attracting the world’s attention.
