Esports enjoys very high visibility among young people owing to their association with the Internet. At the 39th OCA General Assembly held on December 16, 2020, esports were approved as an official medal sport at the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022. Esports will be in the intellectual titles category and will include eight medal events, separately, League of Legends, Arena of Valor (Asian Games version), PUBG Mobile (Asian Games version), Hearthstone, Dota 2, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, Street Fighter V, and FIFA Online 4. These events involve six PC games and two mobile games and cover multiple popular esports categories such as MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena), SPG (sports game), and CCG (collectible card game) to make the esports events of the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 colorful, exciting, and full of fun. A total of eight gold medals are expected to be awarded for the esports of the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.
