Urban construction embodies the planning thought of ancient Chinese imperial city construction. Taking Chang’an City of Tang Dynasty and Beijing City of Ming and Qing Dynasties, this course introduces the planning and layout of the city from the aspects of shape, scale, function and composition and summarizes its layout characteristics so that students can understand the planning logic and thinking of the construction of ancient Chinese capital.
