2With the advent of We Media era, our recreational life has been greatly enriched, and some new professions have also come into being. A large number of “online influencers and celebrity bloggers" are active on Weibo, TikTok, bilibili.com, Little Red Book and other platforms. Guided by the taste and vision of the celebrities, they select styles and patterns, conduct visual promotion to get popularity on social media, and carry out targeted marketing relying on huge fan groups, so as to convert fans into purchasing power. This course will explain the development of Internet Celebrity Economy in the era of live-streaming and short videos in contemporary China from five aspects: development phases, impetus, its effects, trend and implications.
