Costumes'. There is a Chinese saying that goes "China has etiquette major called Xia, has served the chapter beauty that called Hua". As a state of etiquette, Chinese fashion culture has gone through development and changes for thousands of years. This course will introduce the changes of Chinese fashion from Spring and Autumn and the Warring States Period to The Qing Dynasty while presenting the characteristics of fashion throughout history by using a combination of pictures and videos. It will also highlight the appearance of typical Chinese clothing such as Chinese tunic suit, Cheongsam and the Tang suit. Foreign students will gain a better understanding on Chinese preference of color, aesthetics and customs from this course.
