Xijing University, founded in 1994, is a private undergraduate institute with postgraduate education qualification. The university currently has more than 20,000 students and covers an area of 1,858 acres. At present, there are 1500 faculty members, 975 teachers, 906 master degree teachers, 406 senior title teachers, and 285 doctoral teachers. In October 2011, with the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of The State Council, Xijing University became one of the first five private universities in China to obtain the qualification of professional master's degree. Now it has 39 undergraduate programs and 5 master's programs. The university vigorously implements the strategy of strengthening the university by scientific research. Based on Shaanxi Province and serving the regional economy, the university has built several academic research platforms and gathered a number of high-level core research teams. The university has maintained a number of scientific research indicators at the forefront of the national private universities, and its scientific research competitiveness has been ranked first in the country for four consecutive years.
