Taiyuan University of Technology is a century-old university with a long history, profound heritage and distinctive characteristics. It is located in Taiyuan, a national historical and cultural city with a history of more than 2,500 years. Its predecessor was the Shanxi Grand Academy, founded in 1902, which was one of the earliest three universities in China’s higher education history. In 1997, Taiyuan University of Technology entered the ranks of the national“211”Project key construction universities. In 2017, the university was selected as the national "Double First-Class" key construction universities.
