Founded in 1980, Zhejiang University of Science and Technology (ZUST), ever since its foundation, has formed and has been adhering to the distinctive feature of internationalization. ZUST international level ranks among top of Zhejiang Provincial universities authorized with master and doctoral degree conferment, running among the top 100 Chinese universities in terms of international competitiveness. It is one of the first batch universities accredited by the Ministry of Education for the international education quality, as well as among the first batch universities for awarding "Silk Road" scholarship and Chinese government scholarship. ZUST started to be entitled for international student recruitment ever since 1994, and as of 2021, the total number of international students has reached 1,962, from 116 countries.
