Founded in 1980, Zhejiang University of Science and Technology (ZUST), ever since its foundation, has formed and has been adhering to the distinctive feature of internationalization. ZUST international level ranks among top of Zhejiang Provincial universities authorized with master and doctoral degree conferment, running among the top 100 Chinese universities in terms of international competitiveness. It is Pilot institution of Chinese-German cooperation in cultivating application-oriented talents designated by the MOE, first batch member university of the Excellent Engineers Education and Training Program of the MOE, “Sino-German Forum” construction unit, the Silk Road Business Alliance Member, and First batch member of “Zhejiang Higher Education Institutions Featuring Internationalization”. ZUST is also among the first batch universities for awarding "Silk Road" scholarship and Chinese government scholarship.

浙江科技学院成立于1980年，自建校以来，坚持走国际化办学之路，形成了鲜明的国际化办学特色。学校国际化总体水平位居浙江省硕博授权高校前列，位列中国大学国际化竞争力排行榜百强，是中德合作培养高等应用型人才试点院校、教育部首批实施“卓越工程师教育培养计划”高校、“中德论坛”基地建设单位、丝绸之路商学院联盟成员单位和“浙江省国际化特色高校”首批建设单位，是教育部首批来华留学质量试点认证高校、首批“丝绸之路”中国政府奖学金高校和中国政府来华留学奖学金生招收院校。长期以来，学校致力于建设“德国模式 中国特色”的新型现代应用型大学，以打造“卓越工程师的摇篮”为目标，培养具有实践能力、创新精神、国际素养和社会责任的高素质应用型人才。

ZUST has two campuses. Xiaoheshan Campus is located in the historical and cultural city of Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province, which is one of the most prosperous provinces in China. Situated at the foot of Xiaohe Mountain and near Xixi National Wetland Park, it has a tranquil lake on its campus and is surrounded by hills. Anji Campus is located in Anji County, which has won the United Nations’ Habitat Scroll of Honor Award.

学校有两个校区，小和山校区位于杭州市西湖区,毗邻西溪湿地，校园土地面积1900余亩，建筑面积47万平方米；安吉校区位于拥有联合国人居奖美誉的竹乡安吉，土地面积800余亩，建筑面积16.5万平方米。校园自然环境优美，山明水秀，湖光鹭影。

ZUST started to be entitled for international student recruitment ever since 1994, and as of 2021, the total number of international students in ZUST has reached 1,962, from 116 countries. In 2009, ZUST opened the undergraduate program of Chinese Language and Literature (Business Chinese) for international students. In 2013, ZUST was successfully designated as HSK test center. In 2014, the Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages was launched in ZUST. In addition to degree education, ZUST also offers a variety of long-term and short-term courses on Chinese language and Chinese culture, and before 2020, more than 500 foreign students took Chinese language courses in ZUST every year. All of the above-mentioned programs and projects have prepared ZUST with a solid foundation and strength in Chinese language teaching.

学校1994年开始具备招收来华留学生资格，2021年，我校留学生总人数1962人，来源国国别数达到116个。我校2009年开设面向留学生的汉语言文学（商务汉语方向）本科专业并开始招生；2013年成功申报HSK考点；2014年开设汉语国际教育硕士并开始招收留学生。除了学历教育以外，学校还开设各类长短期汉语、中国文化进修课程，疫情前每年有500多名留学生在我校学习汉语课程，具有扎实的汉语教学基础和实力。

ZUST has set up Confucius Institutes in cooperation with Babeş-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca in Romania and Erfurt University of Applied Sciences in Germany respectively, and started to take in Confucius Institute Scholarship students in 2009. Established in 2009, Confucius Institute of Babeş-Bolyai University of Cluj, Romania, has set up 5 Confucius classrooms and opened 43 classes in 6 cities in Romania. It has been awarded as the "Advanced Confucius Institute" in the world. Established in 2011, the Confucius Institute of Erfurt University of Applied Sciences has opened eight teaching sites. Since 2015, ZUST has hosted 10 Confucius Institute summer camps, with a total of 253 members participating. With the strong support of Center for Language Education and Cooperation, in 2020 and 2021, ZUST successfully hosted three "Chinese Bridge" online visiting programs respectively, and successfully recruited and trained 382 overseas students, who gathered online to enjoy a virtual visit to Zhejiang Province and ZUST and delivered very favorable comments.

我校先后在罗马尼亚和德国建立2所孔子学院, 2009年开始接收孔子学院奖学金生。罗马尼亚克鲁日巴比什-波雅依大学孔子学院成立于2009年，已建5个孔子课堂，在罗马尼亚6个城市开设43个教学班级，曾获评全球“先进孔子学院”。德国埃尔福特应用科技大学孔子学院成立于2011年，已开设8个教学点。2015年至今，我校先后接待了10个孔子学院暑期夏令营团组，总计253人次。在语合中心的大力支持下，2020年和2021年，我校分别承办了三期“汉语桥”线上团组交流项目，成功招收并培训了382名海外学员，学员们相聚云端，畅游浙江，畅游浙科，好评不断。

Through the organization of Confucius Institute Summer Study Camps, “Chinese Bridge” Delegation Online and “Explore China” activities, ZUST has accumulated rich experience in delegation reception, and has also developed a variety of distinctive courses and activities. Therefore, we carefully design a 4-day group itinerary themed on “Meet with Digital Hangzhou & Explore the Intelligent City”, focusing on the four perspectives of digital society, digital government, digital economy and digital technology respectively, with the future communities and future villages representing the digital society, the city brain displaying the digital government, Alibaba and Yunqi Cloud Town showcasing the digital economy, and the Asian Games gyms demonstrating digital technology. In addition, such culture elements as West Lake, Hefang Street, China Tea Museum, “Songcheng Romance Performance” are also added to the itinerary, thus to invite overseas principals to join us to perceive how the digitalization drives the city, economic and social development, explore the digital intelligence code of the smart city, and experience the ancient and modern culture of Hangzhou. Distinctive itinerary activities include:

通过长期组织孔子学院暑期夏令营团组、“汉语桥”线上交流团组和“感知中国”实践活动，我校积累了丰富的团组接待经验，也精心打造了丰富多样的特色课程。此次校长团，我们以“走进‘数字杭州’，触摸‘数智城市’”为主题，精心设计了4天团组行程，从别从数字社会、数字政府、数字经济、数字技术四个维度切入，分别选取了代表数字社会的未来社区和未来乡村、代表数字政府的城市大脑、代表数字经济的阿里巴巴和云栖小镇、代表数字技术的亚运场馆等场所进行参观，此外，选取西湖、河坊街、中国茶叶博物馆、“宋城千古情”表演等特色文化元素，邀请海外校长与我们一同感知数字赋能城市、经济和社会发展，探寻智慧城市的数智密码，体验杭州的古今文化。其中特色行程包括：

1. Lecture: Meet with Digital Hangzhou to Explore the Miracle of an Intelligence City

讲座：走进数字杭州，探寻数智密码

Hangzhou has always been famous for its beautiful scenic spots and rich cultural elements, and nowadays "digitalization" has become the golden name card of Hangzhou. Bringing surging impetus to the development of Hangzhou, the digital economy becomes the fastest-growing, most innovative, most influential, and most profoundly integrated economic activity in Hangzhou. The lecture will deeply analyze Hangzhou's digital intelligence code and provide an overall perception of this smart city.

2. Tour to Westlake and Hefang Street to perceive the beautiful Zhejiang

畅游杭城：参观西湖、河坊街，感受美丽浙江

The beauty of Hangzhou lies in West Lake. West Lake and Hangzhou both realize development and prosperous by each other. Since ancient times, West Lake in Hangzhou has been regarded as the most beautiful one among the thirty-six lakes in the world. Its picturesque scenery of lakes and mountains, the natural integration of sights with culture, and the respect and inheritance of historical elements, all constitute the beauty of West Lake. Situated at the foot of Wushan Mountain, Hefang Street is a historical and cultural block in Hangzhou. It has been the commercial center of Hangzhou since ancient times. Hefang Street interprets the history of Hangzhou and is one of the streets best reflecting the historical and cultural features hereof.

杭州之美，美在西湖。西湖傍杭州而盛，杭州因西湖而名。自古以来，“天下西湖三十六，就中最美是杭州”。其如诗如画的湖光山色、湖山与人文的浑然相融、历史文脉的尊重与传承，都构成了西湖之美。河坊街是位于吴山脚下的杭州历史文化街区，自古就是杭州的商业中心，河坊街演绎了杭城历史文脉，是最能够体现杭州历史文化风貌的街道之一。

The development of China's digital economy has been at the forefront of the world, and Hangzhou is known as the pioneer of China's digital economy. The digital economy is the "pillar" supporting the development of Hangzhou, reflecting the level of the city's development. Alibaba, headquartered in Hangzhou, has always been a business legend in the interpretation of the digital economy. It is not only a participant and builder of China's digital economy era, but also a beneficiary of the digital economy. Yunqi Town is the epitome of the development of the digital economy in Zhejiang Province and the representative of high-quality development. Hangzhou City Brain is a digital platform for urban life. With it, citizens could touch the vitality of the city, feel the city’s philosophy of putting people first, and enjoy city services, and city operators could allocate public resources, make scientific decisions, and improve governance efficiency. Through big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other means, from informatization to intelligence, the city brain has become an important measure and necessary path to build “digital Hangzhou”.

Songcheng Romance Show is the essence of Hangzhou Songcheng Scenic Spot and one of the “Three Famous Shows in the World”. It presents the history and culture of Songcheng, displaying the life of people in Liang Zhu, the glamor of Song Palace, the bravery of General Yuefei and his follow soldiers, and the local love story, etc., showing the most essential root and soul of Hangzhou culture.

6. Tour in Asian Games Gym to learn high-teach

Hangzhou Asian Games Gym, taking the shape of a lotus, the flower most distinctive for Hangzhou, is a very representative building among the Asian Games venues, proving to be eye-catching landscape near Qiantang River. It applies new information technology such as 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), AI artificial intelligence, and digital twins, etc, fully implementing the "smart" concept of Hangzhou Asian Games, and empowering Asian Games gyms with high-technology.

7. Tour in Future Community and Future Village and get involved in digital society

“Future” refers to the future for the modernization of China's social governance. In urban areas, we have future communities, and in rural areas, we have future villages. The future community is a new platform for urban modernization, high-quality development and high-quality life with people as the core. “Tea is regarded as the national beverage, and Hangzhou is the capital of tea”. Hangzhou has been a famous tea producing area since ancient times, and has formed solid tea culture. We would like to invite you to meet with the China Tea Museum and embark on a unique tea culture journey, to learn about tea culture, Hangzhou’s history of tea, understand the tea making process, appreciate the live performance of the tea ceremony, taste the fragrance of tea, and enjoy the tea culture, thus to gain a profound understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
