Kashi University, located in China’s famous historical and cultural city, an excellent tourist city in China, Kashi, known as “five ports to eight countries, all the way to Eurasia”. The university has a long history of schooling in the westernmost part of the motherland, a complete range of disciplines, running a modern comprehensive university with distinctive features, as one of the 100 pilot universities for transformation and development in the country. It is one of the 100 pilot universities for transformation and development in China. The university was founded in 1962, and during the 16 years to 1978, it was the only higher teacher training institution among the five higher education institutions in the autonomous region (Xinjiang University, Xinjiang Institute of Technology, Bayi Agricultural College, Xinjiang Medical College, Xinjiang Kashi Teachers College), and played an irreplaceable and important role in the basic education, social stability and economic development of Xinjiang, especially in the southern part of Xinjiang. In 1978, the school was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed as Kashi Normal College. In 2003, it was qualified as a master’s degree authorizing unit and began to undertake postgraduate training of master’s degree students. In 2007, it achieved excellent results in the assessment of the level of undergraduate teaching by the Ministry of Education. In 2012, it was listed as the colleges and universities of the western and central universities of China in the project of basic capacity building. In April 2015, it was renamed as Kashi University. As of May 2024, the university has three campuses, namely Gaotai, Xinquan and Dongcheng, covering an area of 3,350 acres, with a total library area of 63,000 square meters, a collection of 1,509,000 books and 1,780,000 e-books; it has 23 teaching units and 71 undergraduate majors; it has five first-level master’s degree authorization points, and seven professional master’s degree authorization points; and there are 32,000 students and 1,981 faculty. Adhering to the university spirit of “poplar-like tenacity and red candle-like dedication”, the university has embodied the school motto of “Harmony and Tolerance, Inspiration and Strength”, and educated more than 120,000 talents of various types of specialties. Since 1987, the university has been admitting international students from the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Central Asia. 喀什大学（Kashi University），坐落于中国历史文化名城、中国优秀旅游城市、素有“五口通八国、一路连欧亚”之称的喀什，是祖国最西部一所办学历史悠久、学科门类齐全、办学特色鲜明的现代化综合性大学，为全国100所转型发展试点高校之一。学校始建于1962年，到1978年的16年间，是自治区5所高等院校（新疆大学、新疆工学院、八一农学院、新疆医学院、新疆喀什师范专科学校）中唯一一所高等师范院校，在新疆特别是南疆基础教育、社会稳定和经济发展方面发挥了不可替代的重要作用。1978年学校升格为本科院校，更名为喀什师范学院。2003年获得硕士学位授权单位资格，开始承担硕士研究生培养任务。2007年在教育部本科教学水平评估中取得了优秀成绩。2012年，被列为中西部高校基础能力建设工程高校。2015年4月，更名为喀什大学。截至2024年5月，学校有高台、新泉、东城3个校区，占地面积3350亩，图书馆总面积6.3万平方米，藏书150.9万册，电子图书178万种；设有23个教学单位，开设71个本科专业；拥有5个一级学科硕士学位授权点，7个专业硕士学位授权点；有在校生3.2万人，教职工1981人。学校秉承“胡杨般坚韧、红烛般奉献”的大学精神，凝练了“和谐包容、励志图强”的校训，培养了12万余名各类专门人才。自1987年开始招收国际学生，先后接收来自美国、英国、日本、韩国、德国、瑞士、加拿大、新西兰、马来西亚、中亚各国的留学生，办学经验丰富、师资力量雄厚、校园环境优美、现代设施齐全、学习生活便利。
