Guangxi Vocational & Technical College was formerly known as Guangxi Labor College founded in 1965. In 1998, it was approved by the Ministry of Education and became one of the first public higher vocational colleges in Guangxi to be restructured independently. In 2019, the College was recognized as a national high-quality higher vocational college by the Ministry of Education, and was selected as a high-level specialty cluster constructing unit of the "Construction Plan for the High-level Higher Vocational Colleges and Specialties with Chinese Characteristics". The College has been awarded the honorary title of "Outstanding Unit for Employment and Entrepreneurship of College Graduates in Guangxi" for 20 consecutive years, and "Guangxi Outstanding Education Unit for Overseas Students" for 2 consecutive years. In 2023, the College was selected for the list of China-ASEAN Education Opening-up and Cooperation Experimental Zone, Overseas Students Studying in Guangxi Base Education Schools.
广西职业技术学院前身是创建于1965年的广西劳动大学，1998年经教育部批准，成为广西首批独立改制的公办高等职业院校。2019年，学校被教育部认定为国家优质高职院校，并入选“中国特色高水平高职学校和专业建设计划”高水平专业群建设单位。连续20年荣获“全区普通高校毕业生就业创业工作突出单位”荣誉称号，连续2年荣获“广西来华留学教育优秀单位”。2023年入选广西-东盟教育开放合作试验区来桂留学基地培育学校（十所之一）。
