Chongqing Industrial & Trade Polytechnic (CQITP) is a state-owned higher education institution supported by Chongqing Municipal People's Government. It is honored as “Chongqing Municipal Advanced Unit for Vocational Education”, “Chongqing Municipal Model Vocational College”. Since the establishment of school in 1936, more than 100,000 technical talents and management talents have been cultivated. The college is located in Fuling, the hinterland of the Three Gorges Reservoir Region, and the intersection of Yangtze and Wujiang River, which is also known as the town of pickled mustard. With a ground space coverage of 276,668 square meters, CQITP owns 9 intramural productive training bases, 151 internal training rooms and a 1.83 million volume library collection, and instruments and equipment for teaching and scientific research valuing at 109 million yuan. The college now has over 11000 on-campus students and more than 400 teaching staff members. The college faculty members are recognized as rich teaching experienced, advanced teaching methods and outstanding science and research ability, including 145 masters’ holders, 123 professors or associate professors. There are 4 members of higher vocational college teaching steering committee, 5 Chongqing young and middle-aged backbone teachers and 295 teachers with dual-qualifications. CQITP is currently comprised of 11 teaching schools and departments, including Finance and Economics, Intelligent Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence and etc, The college offers 47 majors, forming a specialty group covering mechatronics technology, accounting and trade, application of chemical technology. Among all the 47 majors, there is two state-level key majors, five provincial key majors, four provincial model majors and four provincial advanced specialty groups. CQITP has remained committed to the concept of “ interaction between colleges and enterprises, combining industry and education, integration of knowledge learning and skills training”, serving the national strategy and local economy. The college graduate employment rate has maintained 97% in recent years.
重庆工贸职业技术学院是重庆市人民政府举办的全日制普通高等职业学校、重庆市优质高等职业院校、重庆市示范性高等职业院校、重庆市“双高计划”专业群建设学校。自1936年建校以来，为国家培养了10万余名技术人才和管理人才。
学校位于长江与乌江交汇地、榨菜之乡——涪陵。现有在校生11867人，教职工444人（其中，博士4人、硕士141人，教授18人、副教授105人，“双师型”教师295人，巴渝学者1人，重庆市教书育人楷模1人，重庆市高校中青年骨干教师5人，全国行业职业教育教学指导委员会委员4人，全国技术产品文件标准化技术委员会委员1人），占地面积415亩，固定资产5.14亿元，教学实训仪器设备总值1.09亿元，9个校内生产性实训基地、151个校内实训室，纸质图书75.03万册、电子图书112万册，设有智能制造学院、人工智能学院、财经学院等11个教学机构。
积极探索和实践“校地、校企、校校合作”的协同办学模式，实施“行业、企业、专业相衔接设置专业，岗位、能力、课程相衔接开发课程，政府、学校、企业相衔接建立人才培养体制机制”的“三个三衔接”人才培养模式，开办机电一体化技术、药品生产技术等47个专业（其中，中央财政支持的实训基地专业2个、国家级骨干专业2个、市级骨干专业5个、市级示范性专业4个、市级优质专业群4个、市级高水平专业群1个（在建）、市级“双基地”专业3个），建有中央财政支持的实训基地4个、市级示范性虚拟仿真实训基地1个、市级教学资源库1个、市级课程思政示范建设项目1个、市级应用技术推广中心1个、市级一流课程11门、市级教学团队1个、市级职教集团4个（其中，市级示范性职教集团1个），开展16个“1+X”证书制度改革，毕业生就业率常年保持在97%以上。
