Suzhou Polytechnic, founded in 1907 and initially named Suzhou Government Agricultural School, has a history of over 100 years and is recognized as the birthplace of modern horticulture and landscape architecture vocational education in China. The school is selected as a national "double high plan" construction unit, a national high-quality vocational college, a national model school, a national model for promoting demonstration of vocational education groups (alliances), and a five-star rating school for rural revitalization talent training. In recent years, the school seizes the opportunities of the country's accelerated development of modern vocational education, implementation of rural revitalization strategies, integration of the Yangtze River Delta urban circle vocational education development, and actively creates five "cards" for horticulture vocational education pioneers, Suzhou landscape heritage inheritors, wisdom agriculture construction leaders, international professional farmers cultivation output explorers, and Suzhou agricultural culture promoters. The school has made remarkable achievements in talent cultivation, professional construction, scientific research services, and teaching staff: it has won the first prize of national teaching achievement award, the national skills talents cultivation outstanding contribution unit, the national Huang Yanpeis Vocational Education "excellent school award", the national teaching ability competition first prize, the national vocational skills competition first prize, the national agricultural and animal husbandry harvest prize, the highest prize of the Netherlands Horticultural Expo in the world and the highest prize of Antalya World Horticultural Expo. The school has also appeared on three important lists: "60 typical schools with national vocational colleges service contributions", "100 excellent institutions with national vocational colleges student development index", and "100 excellent institutions with national vocational colleges teacher development index". The school's international exchange and cooperation achievements are remarkable. It implements the open education development plan and builds an overseas exchange platform with "going out" enterprises by jointly founding Indonesian Suzhou Polytechnic. It has sent more than 300 teachers to countries such as the United States, Japan, Germany, and the Netherlands for training and research. The landscape major and horticulture major have introduced international BTEC vocational skills standards, and 70 students have obtained British BTEC vocational skills certificates. Nine flower and fruit production standards such as tulip, European daffodil, and white sand loquat have been introduced. The school has admitted nearly 100 full-time students from countries such as Congo (Brazzaville) and Indonesia, and trained more than 200 students from countries such as France in Chinese traditional culture courses. The school has co-organized the China Horticultural Expo "Chinese Tang Garden" and "Chinese Huayuan" technical management training classes to train 47 landscape administrators and technicians from Thailand and Turkey. "Introduction and Innovation Practice of Australian Agricultural Vocational Education Training Package" won the 2018 national teaching achievement award. The school has been selected twice as one of the top 50 national vocational colleges with international influence and was named "the first batch of national agricultural cooperation technology support and talent training bases" and "provincial education cooperation and exchange advanced school in Jiangsu Province".

苏州农业职业技术学院始建于1907年，初名为苏州府官立农业学堂，至今已有一百多年的办学历史，被誉为中国近现代园艺与园林职业教育的发祥地。学校入选国家“双高计划”建设单位、国家优质专科高等职业院校、全国乡村振兴人才培养优质校、全国示范性职业教育集团（联盟）培育单位。

学校国际交流合作成绩斐然。实施开放办学拓展工程，与“走出去” 企业共建印尼苏州农学院，搭建海外交流平台。选派教师300多人次赴美国、日本、德国、荷兰等国家进行培训、研修。园林专业、园艺专业引融国际BTEC职业技能标准，70多名学生获得英国BTEC职业技能证书。引融郁金香、欧洲水仙、白沙枇杷等花卉果树生产标准9项。招收来自刚果（布）、印尼等国家的全日制留学生近百人，举办中国传统文 化培训班培训法国等国家的留学生200余人。协办世界园艺博览会“中国唐园”“中国华园”技术管理研修班，培训泰国、土耳其园林领域管 理者和技术员47人。“澳大利亚农业职业教育‘培训包’引鉴及教学创 新实践”获 2018年国家教学成果奖二等奖。学校先后两次入选全国高职院校国际影响力50强，被评为“全国首批农业对外合作科技支撑与人才培训基地”和“江苏省教育国际合作与交流先进学校”。
