汉语国际推广武术培训与研究基地简介
Established in 2012 at the heart of Capital University of Physical Education and Sports (CUPES), the Martial Arts Training and Research Center for International Promotion of Chinese Language is the world's first Chinese-foreign cultural exchange and cooperation institution approved by the former Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters of the Ministry of Education.
"Telling Chinese stories with the fusion of martial arts and dance" is one of the brand activities of the Center. Since 2013, it has been selected into the cultural tour project of the Confucius Institute for successive years. So far, the Center has staged more than 100 performances in more than 20 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, Spain, and Portugal, spreading traditional culture represented by Chinese martial arts to international friends.
The Panorama Martial Arts Exhibition Center is another brand project, which mainly focuses on the experiential martial arts education and inheritance practice with the purpose of “casting the soul & enlightening the wisdom”. Since its opening in 2020, the Center has received nearly 10,000 visitors from all walks of life. Beijing Television Channel's "Winter Olympics Documentary" column once recorded a feature film for "Beijing Winter Olympics Knowledge Contest" in the exhibition hall of the Center. Once released, the film immediately aroused enthusiastic feedback regarding “the Olympics and Chinese culture go hand in hand”. The 2022 cultural video, filmed under the context of the UN Chinese Language Day and titled“Touring the Center, Practicing martial arts and learning Chinese language” has greatly stimulated the interest of Chinese learners around the world as to "cultivate both literal and martial arts” and to “build a better future together through martial arts”. The Lion Dance Aerobics, recorded with the hit song Compendium of Materia Medica as background music in the exhibition hall of the Center was reposted by The People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency and the total number of views has exceeded 1 million.
Acting as an important cornerstone for Capital University of Physical Education and Sports (CUPES) to realize cultural inheritance and to move towards an international path at the same time, The Martial Arts Training and Research Center for International Promotion of Chinese Language will continue to strive and innovate for the University to become a world-class sports higher institution that integrates Chinese sports spirit and the Olympic spirit.
