Shandong Vocational and Technical University of International Studies established in 2005, is a full-time private university. Upon being approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China in December 2018, the university was upgraded to an undergraduate-level vocational university. The university covers an area of 682,400 square meters. There are over 10000 students, more than 800 teachers and 30 foreign teachers. It is entitled the garden style campus for its unique geographical location, profound humanistic deposits and beautiful scenery. There are 64 majors altogether, including 14 undergraduate majors, distributed among seven schools: the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Economics and Management, the School of International Business, the School of Information Engineering, the School of Aviation and Tourism, the School of International Studies and the School of Finance. Over 100 prizes have been awarded to the university, such as the Most Characteristic Vocational College in Shandong Province and the College with the Best Social Reputation in Shandong Province. It is the Shandong Key Outsourcing Service Talent Cultivation Base, the Research Base of Rizhao Export-oriented Economy Development, the Research Base of Rizhao Foreign Publicity and “China’s Top50 Internationally Influential Vocational Colleges”2017. Our university was granted its credential by the Shandong Department of Education and started to receive foreign students in 2009. We have short term Chinese language programs, as well as study campus in summer and winter. Nearly 800 foreign students from the USA, Germany, France, Spain, Korea, Italy, Japan, Russia, Thailand and Tajikistan have received education here.
山东外国语职业技术大学成立于2005年，为民办全日制普通高校。2018年12月，教育部批复学院升格为本科层次职业学校。
学校占地68.24万平方米，地理位置优越，人文底蕴深厚，依山傍海，风景秀丽，被日照市评为“花园式单位”。在校生10000余人，专任教师800多人，外籍教师30名。下设有外语学院、国际商学院、财会金融学院、国际教育学院、信息工程学院、艺术学院和航空旅游学院7个二级学院，开设有64个专业，其中本科专业14个。
学校先后荣获“山东最具办学特色高职院校”“山东最佳社会声誉高校”等100余项荣誉。是“山东省重点服务外包人才培训基地”“日照市外向型经济研究基地”“日照市外语外宣研究基地”。2017年7月，由麦克思研究院推出的《中国高等职业教育质量年度报告》中，我院入围“全国高职院校国际影响力50强”。
学院于2008年获得山东省教育厅授予的可接收外国留学生资质，于2009年开始接收外国留学生。开设有长/短期汉语研修班、寒暑假夏令营等游学项目，累计培养外国留学生800余人，涉及国家有美国、德国、法国、西班牙、韩国、日本、俄罗斯、泰国、塔吉克斯坦等。
