Founded in 1938, Southwest Forestry University is a public comprehensive university and one of the key universities in Yunnan Province. Solely established in the western region of China with specialty in forestry, SWFU have now become a comprehensive university providing multi-disciplinary programs in forest conservation and sustainable utilization, landscape construction, forest engineering, bio-technology, eco-tourism, agricultural and forest economy, business administration, big data and artificial intelligence, computer science and technology, material sciences, transportation and machinery, as well as language programs such as English, French, Thai and Vietnamese. SWFU is located in eastern part of Kunming City in China' s Yunnan province with convenient transportation and eco-friendly environment.
西南林业大学起源于1938年的云南大学森林系，是我国西部地区唯一独立设置的林业高校，以林学、林业工程、风景园林学为传统优势，生物学、环境科学与工程为特色，理、工、农、文、法、管等多学科门类协调发展，是国家卓越农林人才教育培养计划、卓越工程师教育培养计划高校、中西部高校基础能力建设工程支持院校。学校位于“春城”昆明。
