江苏师范大学成立于1952年，位于江苏省徐州市，现是江苏省政府和中国教育部共建高校。学校设有22个专业学院，59个本科招生专业，35个一级学科硕士点，1个服务国家特殊需求博士人才培养项目，覆盖11个学科门类。学校现有6个省优势学科、12个省重点学科，化学、工程学、材料科学学科进入ESI排名前1%， 4个学科入榜2020“软科世界一流学科排名”，16个学科入榜2020“软科中国最好学科排名”。发表Science、Nature、PNAS等国际一流期刊论文22篇。自然指数（Nature Index）连续三年进入“中国内地高校Top100”。学校列2022年U.S. News世界大学排行榜全球大学第940位，中国（内地）大学第94位。

学校现有在校普通全日制本科生约20000人，博士、硕士研究生4500余人，来自50多个国家的学历教育留学生530余人。相继与英、美、澳、俄等国的近110所高校建立了友好合作关系。与哈佛大学、爱丁堡大学、伦敦大学学院等知名高校联合建设科研平台。特别值得一提的是，在2016年，我校与俄罗斯圣彼得堡彼得大帝理工大学合作成立了我国首个非独立法人中俄合作办学机构——江苏师范大学圣彼得堡彼得大帝理工大学联合工程学院。学校先后加入中俄教育类高校联盟、江苏-英国高水平大学联盟、中国-中东欧国家高校联合会等国际合作组织。

学校设有“一带一路”研究院、巴基斯坦研究中心、澳大利亚研究中心、伊比利亚美洲研究中心、国家语委语言能力高等研究院。与国外知名大学共建“一带一路”研究院海外分院5所，有望产生更多研究成果。

Xuzhou-based Jiangsu Normal University (JSNU) was founded in 1952. It is jointly sponsored and administrated by the China’s Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province. JSNU has 22 colleges and schools, offering 59 undergraduate programs and 35 master’s programs at the first layer of Chinese disciplines categories, one doctorate program, covering 11 categories of disciplines. JSNU has 6 provincial dominant disciplines, and 12 provincial key disciplines. And its disciplines of engineering, chemistry and materials science ranked top 1% worldwide in ESI Rankings. 4 subjects are listed on Academic Ranking World Universities based in Shanghai Jiaotong University , 16 subjects are among the best in China.The university faculties have published 22 papers in Science, Nature, PNAS and other world top journals. From 2018 the Nature Index of the university was ranked among “Top 100 of Chinese Mainland Universities”. According to the 2022 U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings, JSNU ranked the 940th globally and the 94th on China’s mainland. 

At present, JSNU has an enrollment of around 20 thousand undergraduates, over 4500 doctor and master candidates, and over 530 international students from over 50 countries on campus. JSNU works in partnership with 110 universities and academic institutions in the world, including universities in UK, US, Australia and other countries. It has jointly established research platforms with Harvard University, the University of Edinburgh, University College London and other prestigious universities. One of the highlights is that JSNU jointly set up Jiangsu--St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute—the largest Sino-Russian joint institute with non-independent legal status in China in collaboration with Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University of Russia in 2016. JSNU got memberships of The Sino Russian University Education Alliance, The Jiangsu-UK 20+20 World Class Universities Consortium, The Thai-Chinese Education Alliance and China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium.

The University currently set up research institutes or centers, including the “Belt and Road” Research Institute, Center for Pakistan Studies, Center for Australian Studies, Center for Iberian Studies, and the Advanced Institute for Language Ability Research. And 5 overseas branches of the “Belt and Road” Research Institute have been established with world prestigious universities abroad, which are expected to yield more research outcomes.
