九江学院是经国家教育部批准设立的国有公办全日制本科普通高等院校，办学历史可上溯至1901年美国基督教卫理公会创办的但福德医院护士学校。

学校坐落在长江中下游历史文化名城——江西省九江市，地处赣、鄂、湘、皖四省交界区域，位于庐山之麓、长江之滨、鄱阳湖之畔。名城、名山、名江、名湖造就了九江学院的灵气，尤其是具有千年历史、享有“天下书院之首”美誉的白鹿洞书院，更为九江学院赋予了深厚的文化底蕴。

学校占地3443亩，现有校舍面积105万平方米。下设23个二级学院，2所“三级甲等”附属医院、1所附属口腔医院。2020年招生的本科专业80个，涵盖了经济学、法学、教育学、文学、理学、工学、农学、医学、管理学、艺术学等学科门类。面向全国30个省（市、自治区）招生，全日制在校生3.3万余人。现有教职工2669人，其中专任教师1950人，教授、副教授800余人。

图书馆设有1个主馆和3个分馆，共藏纸质图书310万余册、电子图书200余万种，有中外文数据库100余个。

会计学、化学工程与工艺专业分别列入省一流优势专业、特色专业建设行列，微电子科学与工程、应用物理学、化学工程与工艺、医学检验技术、临床医学、会计学、护理学、旅游管理等8个专业获批省级一流本科专业建设点。

学校持续深化对外合作交流，教育国际化水平不断提升。与俄罗斯、柬埔寨、美国等22个国家和地区的60所高校签署了合作备忘录或合作协议。获教育部批准设立了中俄本科合作办学项目（视觉传达设计），加入了中俄“长江—伏尔加河”高校联盟。学校持续拓展留学生中文、临床医学等专业教育，累计招收留学生567人，生源国34个。与柬埔寨皇家科学院和美国萨凡纳州立大学合作设立的2个孔子学院、3个孔子课堂，柬埔寨孔子学院先后3次获评“全球先进孔子学院奖”，并被纳入“全球示范孔子学院”建设行列。作为国务院侨办华文教育基地，学校开展了“中华文化大乐园”及海外艺术巡演10余次，承办了10多次海外华裔青少年“寻根之旅”夏(冬)令营和华文教师培训，广泛传播了中国形象，九院声音。

Jiujiang University (JJU) is a comprehensive and residential public university located in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province of the People’s Republic of China. It is accredited by the Chinese Ministry of Education and enrolls students of diverse backgrounds from almost every province and administrative region of the country. Its history can be traced back to 1901 when it was chartered as Danforth Hospital Nursing School by American Missionaries. Its advantageous location and long history provides JJU with a rich cultural and academic atmosphere. 

JJU has four beautiful campuses resting on approximately 200 hectares (500 acres) and includes a building area of 1,050,000 square meters. The beautiful, green environment of JJU’s campus is perfect for study. Students may study and relax amidst a cool and pleasant atmosphere and the University’s beautiful botanical gardens. The university equipped with modern educational facilities, services and accommodation for students and staff, located against a beautiful background of Lushan Mountain scenery in Jiangxi Province.

There are 2669 full-time teachers, over 33,000 full-time students, and 23 faculties or colleges offering a total of 80 Bachelor degree programs. The University is affiliated with a hospital, and boasts libraries with a collection of more than three million books and two million e-books. 

JJU is comprised of 23 faculties (schools), including the School of Art, School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, School of Computer & Big Data Sciences, School of Construction Engineering & Design, School of Economics, School of Education, School of Electronic Commerce, School of Electronic Information & Engineering, School of Foreign Languages, School of International Studies, School of Law, School of Literature & Media, School of Management, School of Marxism, School of Materials Science & Engineering, School of Mechanical & Intelligent Manufacturing, School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy & Life Sciences, School of Physical Education, School of Nursing,School of Resources & Environmental Sciences, School of Sciences, School of Tourism & Geography, College of Continuing Education.

The University aims to produce graduates with intellectual maturity and ethical awareness to contribute to the social and economic improvement of mid south region, and the rest of the country. Problem-Based Learning approaches are widely used across the University. The students of JJU are encouraged to be responsible for their own learning as well as developing their potential to the fullest extent through the practical application of theoretical knowledge in the real world of work. The academic services to the community, which are closely linked to research and teaching/learning activities, aim to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction by providing products and services that meet the specified needs of service users such as educational institutions, business enterprises, agricultural producers, and the general public. 

The University has enrolled 567 overseas students from 34 countries and has established collaborative relationships universities in Cambodia, Finland, France, India, Ireland, Japan, Nepal, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, UK, and USA. JJU has also been actively involved in establishing the Confucius Institute at Royal Academy of Cambodia and Confucius Institute at Savannah State University in USA.

For a young university, JJU has been increasing academic collaboration with a growing number of overseas higher education institutions. With its ever-expanding international cooperation and academic exchanges, JJU is seeking to establish relationships with universities from all over the world.
