Gannan Normal University (GNNU) is located in Ganzhou, which has the reputation of "Jiangnan Song City, Hakka Cradle, Red Old Capital, Ecological Home, Rare Earth Kingdom, Tungsten Capital of the World, and Hometown of Navel Orange". It is also the national historical and cultural city and the sub-central city of Jiangxi Province. GNNU was first established as Gannan Teachers College in June, 1958. It was evaluated as “a regional excellent normal university with distinctive characteristics and good prospects” by the experts group from the Ministry of Education of China. In 2017, it was awarded the honorary title of "National civilized Campus" by the Central Spiritual Civilization Construction Steering Committee.

赣南师范大学位于国家历史文化名城、江西省域副中心城市、素有“江南宋城、客家摇篮、红色故都、生态家园、稀土王国、世界钨都、脐橙之乡”之美誉的赣州市。学校创办于1958年6月，被教育部专家组评价为“是一所特色鲜明、前景良好的区域性优秀师范大学”。2017年，又被中央精神文明建设指导委员会授予第一届“全国文明校园”荣誉称号。
