Southwest University of Science and Technology(SWUST）is located in Mianyang--the only Science and Technology City in China. The university is jointly built by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education as well as the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. It has been designated by the Ministry of Education as one of the 14 key universities in western China. Since its establishment, the university has been relocated several times and has gone through an extraordinary process of founding, development and expansion. With an area of 5463 mu, beautiful environment and perfect facilities, the school campus is a good place to study. The current building area of the university is 1.19 million square meters, the total value of fixed assets is 2.5 billion yuan, and the value of teaching, scientific research and research instruments and equipment has reached 828 million yuan. The building area of the university library is 37800 square meters, with a collection of more than 2.43 million paper books and more than 6.8 million e-books. The university has more than 37000 graduate students, undergraduates, college students and international students. There are 16 Colleges (Departments) including the College of Science and Technology for National Defense, 79 undergraduate majors in 9 disciplines including engineering, agriculture, science, economics, law, literature, management, education and art, 22 first-class master's degree programs, 1 independent second-class master's degree program, 12 master's degree categories, 4 first-class doctoral programs and 1 post-doctoral research mobile station. There are four disciplines which jointly train doctoral students with China Academy of Engineering Physics. There are more than 2700 faculty members in SWUST, including 312 with senior professional titles, 635 with deputy senior professional titles, 831 with doctoral and master's supervisors, and 15 academicians from the board of directors. SWUST has established extensive cooperation and exchanges with more than 30 foreign universities and scientific research institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. In particular, the university has strengthened all-round and multi-level international cooperation and exchanges with countries along “the Belt and Road” in teaching, scientific research and talent training, accelerating the educational internationalization of the university.
