To understand students’ needs, we had research and discussions in the early stage of the Brazilian Online Learning and Exchange group project. Following the understanding of the Brazilian students’ needs, we infused rich thematic concepts into the course content. This group course is aimed at Brazilian students and will last for seven days. We designed seven topics that can be interconnected or taught separately. They include Chinese Food, Chinese Characters and Calligraphy, Traditional Festival, Chinese Medicine, Hebei Scenery, Chinese Clothing, and Winter Olympics 2022. We will infuse essential grammar points and vocabulary into Chinese culture. Seven lecturers with excellent teaching experience and astounding charge of the classroom will be teaching the classes. The team has carefully prepared relevant cultural activities and will share them with everyone through online interactions, video classes, and other channels. Since students come from all over Brazil and have different Chinese proficiency, there will be Portuguese subtitles to help students grab the course contents. We believe that these well-prepared Language and Culture classes will increase the students’ learning interest and understanding of Chinese and Chinese culture.
