Located in Shenyang, a central city in the Northeast of China, Liaoning University (LNU) is one of the National "Project 211" Key Universities of China as designated by the Ministry of Education. It is the only comprehensive academic higher education institution of its kind in Liaoning Province with a breadth of disciplines offered such as Chinese, History, Philosophy, Economics, Law, Sciences, Engineering, Management, Medicine and Art. The name of the school was inscribed by Marshal Zhu De. Liaoning University has 1667 full-time teachers, including 271 doctoral supervisors, 974 master’s supervisors , an academician of CAE member，25 experts who were selected in the National Talent Plan ，1 experts who got the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars，5 experts who were selected in the National Youth Talent Plan，74 specialists on special stipend under the State Council of the People’s Republic of China，13 experts from the New Century Outstanding Talents of the Ministry of Education，63 candidates for Liaoning Xingliao Talents Plan, 3 national and provincial Huang Danian style teacher teams，15 national and provincial teacher teams，32 national outstanding teachers and provincial outstanding teachers. International education at Liaoning University started in the 1960s. After near 60 years of construction and development, Liaoning university has become a highly recognised institute of international education in China, which now serves as a demonstration of the highest standard of international education in Liaoning Province. 辽宁大学坐落于中国东北中心城市沈阳，是一所具备文、史、哲、经、法、理、工、管、医、艺等学科门类的综合性大学,是中国国家“211工程”重点建设院校和世界一流学科建设高校。学校校名由新中国开国元勋朱德元帅题写。
