Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE), founded in 1917, is a top-ranking university specialising in economics, finance and business studies. The university is under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and is listed as “Project 211” – aimed at strengthening over 100 universities with the intent of raising the research standards for the 21st century.
