China’s silk culture was born and developed almost simultaneously with Chinese civilization. Archaeological findings show that in the Neolithic period, five or six thousand years ago, the ancients began to raise silkworms, take silk and weave silk. Chinese silk is known for its excellent quality, exquisite colors and rich cultural connotations. This lecture will elaborate on silk — a treasure of Chinese culture, from the origin of silk, the production process of silk, the value of silk and the dimensions of silk products.
