In this course, Xu Xiake’s Travelogue written by Xu Xiake who is a geographer, explorer and traveler in ancient China, and its writing process will be lectured on. Xu Xiake is a prominent geographer explorer and traveler in the Ming Dynasty. His lifetime can be summarized as “be always ready to realize his aspiration anywhere all over the country”. He travelled all through his life, attaching his feelings to mountains and rivers. He recorded all his feelings, experiences, local landforms and customs during his travels. His travelling notes were compiled later as a geological classic——Xu Xiake’s Travelogue. This book provides significant materials to the Chinese geological research.
