This course focuses on the tomb murals of the Qianling Mausoleum of the Tang Dynasty, to explore the mysterious culture of the ancient Chinese rulers who “treated death as seriously as life”, to learn about the painting methods and historical and cultural knowledge of the mural paintings on the tomb chamber, to see within zero distance the tomb mural paintings buried deep underground, to compare the similarities and differences between life in the Tang Dynasty and life in contemporary times in terms of lifestyle, to imagine the prosperity of Chang’an, and to feel the glamour and elegance of the flourishing Tang Dynasty.
