China has a long history of metrology, which can be traced back to the end of primitive society. About 4000 years ago in the early Xia Dynasty, a relatively unified instrument and system for measuring time, length, capacity, and weight had been established. This course introduces the development and evolution history of the word“LIANG（量）”, common words containing the two characters, and historical stories related to them.
